When AI Meets Conservation, Neighbird’s doc from Gabon, has been selected for The Science Film Festival

The Neighbird Staff

Through October and December 2025 the festival, organized by the Goethe-Institut, will screen the doc in partnership with schools, universities, museums, and other educational partners.

After this screening period, the winners of six award categories will be announced in January 2026. But the way the festival is designed, makes us feel like we've won already.

We are told that some of these screenings will be done in coordination with directly with teachers and facilitators. So, instead of following a fixed daily schedule, it will adapt to local contexts. We are honored that our documentary was one of the 123 films selected from 1503 films.

These festival screen to roughly 500,000 viewers spread across 20 countries that the festival happens in. Out of these, our doc will be shown in South Africa, Namibia, Cameroon, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Singapore.

With every doc we publish, our goal has been to bring environment stories to as many people as we can. And we are grateful for this festival for helping us do that with such magnitude.
